Pedicure

Manicure

A pedicure is a superficial cosmetic treatment of the feet and toenails. Getting a pedicure makes you feel pampered and well cared for, and when you’re done, you feel clean and energized. Most women get their toenails done for cosmetic and therapeutic reasons, but there are also numerous health benefits associated with pedicures. The foot massage that come with pedicure services helps to stimulate circulation in the feet, which is important for your overall foot health. The removal of calluses on the feet can prevent the formation of pressure points from uneven weight distribution, and having your nails trimmed by a skilled nail specialist can prevent ingrown toenails. Regular pedicures are also a good way to prevent blisters, corns, and blackened toenails (one of a number of running- related injuries that can be prevented with conscientious nail care).

Waxing

For leg, arm, under arm & eyebrow waxing Strip Wax is used to remove the hairs quickly & efficiently. Strip Wax is applied to the skin in a very thin layer using a spatula. A fabric or paper strip is then pressed on the waxed area and removed quickly causing minimum discomfort. Strip Wax is great for larger areas where you want to remove a large amount of hairs as quickly as possible.

Before and after your appointment

Many clients have questions about waxing etiquette. Here are a few tips to make sure your waxing appointment goes smoothly.

Please arrive at least five minutes before your appointment start time.

For the best results, hair should be approximately one quarter of an inch long when it is removed. For the right amount of growth, don’t shave, wax, or pluck the treatment area for at least 10 days prior to your appointment. Should your hair gettoo long, trim it with scissors or an electric razor before you arrive.

Exfoliating the area to be waxed a day or two before your appointment will help prevent ingrown hairs from forming.

Take a mild pain medication 30 to 60 minutes before your appointment. This precaution will prevent any pain sensitivity that may occur.

Thank you for choosing me for your waxing service. Please follow the guidelines below to ensure your skin is cared for properly over the next few days. Please note: some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24-48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24-48 hours.

To prevent ingrown hairs: starting a few days after your appointment, gently scrub the skin 3 times a week in the bath or shower using a loofah or exfoliating mitt. Also moisturise the area every day, which will keep the skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally.

You may notice a small amount of regrowth after a week or so. It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results. Hair needs to be at least ½ cm long before it can be successfully removed by waxing; please do not shave between your appointments. To maintain your smooth appearance, I recommend regular waxing every 4-6 weeks.

Bathe or shower the day of your treatment and avoid applying lotions or creams. Oily or slick skin will keep the wax from adhering properly and will make hair removal difficult.

Due to increased sensitivity, women should avoid waxing within four days of their menstrual cycles.

Clients who have sunburns or are currently taking medications that cause skin thinning or sensitivity should avoid waxing.
